About this calculator

How I use this in clinic

In my osteoporosis and bone health reviews I often start with a simple question: where is your calcium coming from? Most patients are surprised by the answer. This calculator is the same kind of estimate I work through with patients in clinic.

It is meant for education only. It does not diagnose calcium deficiency and it does not prevent osteoporosis on its own. If you have osteoporosis, osteopenia, kidney disease, kidney stones, digestive conditions, or you are unsure whether you need calcium supplements, please speak with your doctor.

This calculator is for general education only. If you have osteoporosis, osteopenia, kidney disease, kidney stones, digestive conditions, or are unsure whether you need calcium supplements, please speak with your doctor.
